Ten Mining Companies Cease Operations

TEMPO Interactive, Padang: From 13 mining companies in Sawahlunto, only 10 of them were asked to cease deep mining activities. Previously, the City Administration of Sawahlunto declared that all mining companies must stop mining following an explosion at Bukit Bual.
Sawahlunto Chief Mining Agency Syafrifal said the other three mining companies, PT Bukit Asam, PT Allied Indo Coal Jaya and PT Usaha Alam Industri, had stopped their activities a few months ago. As of yesterday, 33 lives have been lost in the accident.
