Bandung, W Java - Six people ranging in age from 15 to 39 years, have died after consuming illegally mixed alcoholic drinks in the West Java city of Garut.
Dr Slamet Hospital in Garut said the death toll rose to six on Thursday with the latest Cecep (28) died early that morning.
Other dead victims include Syamsul (24) from Cilawu sub-district, Heri (20), Ad (17), MR (15) and Yana (39).
Asep Roni Irianto, an officer of the hospital, said there were 13 more treated at the hospital.
They complained about headache and feeling queasy , some even had lost consciousness when they were admitted to the hospital on Wednesday, Asep said.
The victims consumed alcoholic drinks they blended themselves, he said.
It was not the first case of fatality of people losing their lives after consuming illegally blended alcoholic drinks in Garut, he said.
