A recent survey by the Indonesian Child Protection Commission (KPAI) shows that 30 million Indonesian children name vocalist Nazriel “Ariel” Ilham their idol regarding the latter’s role as the front man of the country’s top pop band Peterpan.
In that sense, the commission chairman Hadi Supeno expressed his strong concern that the fans would be affected by Ariel’s possible involvement in the adultery case.
“I suggest Ariel apologize so his young fans can comprehend that what he did was wrong and should not be repeated,” Hadi told tempointeraktif.com on Sunday.
Hadi said he visited Ariel, detained in the police’s general crimes unit, last Friday and had delivered his suggestion. “Ariel said he would take some time to think about it, whether the suggestion was the best for him,” he added.
Ariel along with his girlfriend Luna Maya and gossip show presenter Cut Tari were allegedly featured in separate sex tapes, which leaked to the public via the Internet. The police have named the three top figures as suspects.
