The National Narcotics Agency (BNN) says a tip from a boyfriend led to the arrest of a woman allegedly carrying 5 kilograms of crystal methamphetamine worth Rp 10 billion (US$1.17 million)
“She is part of the Nigerian drug syndicate and we’ve been targeting her for quite some time,” BNN narcotics chief Sr. Comr. Benny Mamoto said on Thursday as quoted by kompas.com.
The courier, identified as San, was arrested after completing a hand-over in a hotel room in Cileduk, South Jakarta, following a tip from San’s boyfriend, Kev, a Nigerian citizen, Benny said.
Benny said San was paid Rp 6 million to carry the drugs, according to the preliminary investigation.
San and Kev face a maximum penalty of 20 years imprisonment and a Rp-1 billion if found guilty of drug trafficking
(Just about bye-byes for this lady!)
