Foreign Minister Marty Natalegawa says the government has not been notified about the execution of Indonesia Ruyati binti Saboti Saruna by the Saudi Arabian government.
"We did not know that she would be executed on Saturday June 18 2011," Marty said Sunday as quoted by tempointeraktif.com.
"For that, we condemn the Saudi government. We regret that the Saudi Arabia government neglected international laws."
Ruyati was beheaded in Mecca as capital punishment for killing a Saudi woman, Khairiya binti Hamid Mijlid, who is her employer's wife, as was confirmed by Marty.
"Yes, she admitted it in trial. She confessed to have murdered the wife of her employer by jabbing and stabbing her neck with a kitchen knife," Marty said.
He added that the government would now summon its ambassador for Saudi Arabia, and Saudi Arabia's ambassador for Indonesia, on Monday to collect more information on the case.
("According to Marty, the Indonesian government accompanied Ruyati throughout her court trial.
"We provided her with protection by accompanying her in her court process from the beginning, the appeal and amnesty stage," Marty said.
Yeah, some protection, perhaps just sitting there doodling on his latest I Phone, and now collecting more info on the case? Bit late I would say, the horse has now bolted out of the stable, the rest is like serving the mustard after the meal is over! This according to siK)
