A firm operating from Surabaya imported from Bulgaria several bags of unwashed ketumbar, (dark in colour) and in order to fetch a better price for a lighter coloured product proceded to to wash the ketumbar in a tocic brew made up from caustic soda, hydrogen peroxide and chlorine! The article did not state whether the “washed” ketumbar was destroyed (hopefully!)

Same thing happened some years ago in Europe: Wine being produced using anti-freeze agents.
