Ical: Papua not to be allowed to separate from the Homeland
Jakarta, CyberNews. In a speech at the 47th anniversary of Golkar in Senayan, Jakarta, Saturday (29/10) tonight, Chairman of Golkar Party Bakrie discussed the conflict in Papua. He said that Papua should not be separated from the Homeland.
"Papua is Indonesia and Papua and Indonesia are thousands of other islands. NKRI set in stone, integrity, not an inch of land may be separated by anyone," said Ical.
Ical expect the government to be firm against separatist groups in Papua. He said the separatist group that formed the transitional government to then break away from the Unitary Republic of Indonesia, Indonesia must be returned to the fold.
"We also must work in earnest to win the hearts of the people, we will push the development in Papua," added Ical.
Ical asked that the community should not always blame the army / police if there is a conflict in Papua, but he agreed that, if there are elements of the TNI / police who are guilty, they should be punished. However, this does not mean they should always be blamed.
