Gorontalo Elections Supervisory Committee (Panwaslu) says it has caught red-handed the success team of the incumbent governor candidate giving out money to the public at a campaign event.
“The money distributed varied from Rp 20,000 to Rp 50,000,” the Panwaslu member for Biluhu Timur sub-district, Suprin Zain, said on Wednesday as quoted by tempointeraktif.com.
He said the governor’s wife was also seen among the people handing out money.
“Yesterday, I saw them giving out money and stickers. They also attempted to bribe me,” he said.
Suprin said he had evidence to support his claims as he had recorded their actions with the camera on his cellular phone, which would be handed over to the regional monitoring committee.
“This video will be evidence of an election violation committed by a pair of governor and deputy governor candidates,” he said.
The campaign team of incumbent candidates Gusnar Ismail and Tony Uloli has categorically denied the allegations and challenged their accusers to file a legal report.
