Two football fans have reportedly been killed in the crush to get into the Gelora Bung Karno stadium.
One of the victims was identified as Reno Alvino, 21, while the other has not yet been identified.
Helmi Gemael, Reno’s cousin, said they had earlier bought tickets for the game, but when trying to get into the Bung Karno Stadium in Senayan, South Jakarta, they had been caught up in a wave of people trying to enter without tickets.
As the game itself went into extra time, the ambulance carrying both bodies was reportedly still stuck in the stadium complex because of the packed crowd and the cars.
The deaths come just hours after infuriated fans burned down a ticket booth after failing to get tickets for the game, despite waiting in line since Sunday night.
