An Indonesian housemaid has died at the King Faisal hospital in Saudi Arabia due to TB and malnutrition, an official says.
Jamilah, the migrant worker from Cianjur, West Java, reportedly died on Dec.15 but her body was still at the hospital morgue, head of the Cianjur Social Affairs and Manpower Agency Moch Ginanjar said on Monday in Cianjur.
“The Foreign Ministry, the Agency for the Placement and Protection of Indonesian Migrant Workers (BNP2TKI) and a recruitment agency are all still working on the process to send her body home,” he said as quoted by tempo.co.
According to BNP2TKI, Jamilah, who left for Arab Saudi in 2006, was found in a weak condition in front of a mosque before she was sent to hospital. She said that she had been dumped by her employer.
Another migrant worker from Cianjur, Imas Suariyah, had also died in Kuwait and her body would be sent home in two weeks, Ginanjar said.
