An unidentified body has been discovered in a two-meter-long, 50-centimeter-wide, steel pipe in a house on Jl. Kapas Krampung in Surabaya, East Java.
The three-storey house belongs to a family of three who live with two maids.
A resident, Kasno, said that the deceased might be that of one of the maids, considering that the other maid had recently filed a report to the police.
Yessi, who works in a cooperative next to the scene, said that she often heard quarrels from the house.
“Sometimes it’s in the morning, sometimes in the afternoon. They fight almost every day,” Yessi said on Tuesday as quoted by kompas.com.
According to Yessi, the residents were rarely seen leaving the house. “Sometimes a woman left the house in the morning but I don’t know whether she was the lady of the house or the maid,” she said.
By Tuesday afternoon, the Surabaya Police had still been unable to break open the pipe.
The police have yet to release a statement regarding the discovery. (swd)
