Gorontalo Mobile Brigade (Brimob) chief Sr. Comr. Eko Saktiono has been removed from his post following recent fatal shootings in which nine of his members have been named suspects.
Aceh Brimob deputy chief Adj. Sr. Comr. Kamaruddin will replace Eko.
Gorontalo Police spokeswoman Adj. Sr. Comr. Lisma Dunggio confirmed Thursday that the appointment was related to the shooting, which led to the death of a soldier from the Army’s local Strategic Reserves Command (Kostrad).
“Pak Eko has undergone a disciplinary hearing session and has been demoted to a tour of duty at the Brimob headquarters in Kelapa Dua, Depok,” she said.
Gorontalo Police have arrested nine members for their alleged involvement in last month’s shootings, and have removed the Limboto Police chief and the Limboto Police’s Operational Unit chief, Antara reported
