Four people were killed when a train collided with a minibus in the North Sumatra town of Tebing Tinggi on Friday.
The incident took place at 10 a.m., when a Suzuki APV carrying eight people ran through a road-railway intersection without a marked crossing on Jalan Lama in the subdistrict of Rambutan, approximately 80 kilometers southeast of the North Sumatra capital of Medan.
A Putri Deli train traveling at high speed passed through at the same time, slamming the car and toppling it before pushing the wreck to the side of the railway.
Four of the Suzuki’s passengers died at the scene, while the four others were severely injured and immediately rushed to nearby Sri Pamela Hospital.
They were reportedly on their way to a wedding reception when the accident took place, Indonesian news portal detik.com reported.
