Counterterrorism squad Densus 88 confiscated 21 active bombs in a raid on the home of Syarifuddin, an alleged terrorist, in Bolang village, Ala district, Enrekang, South Sulawesi, on Wednesday.
National Police spokesperson Brig. Gen. Boy Rafli said the homemade bombs comprised 20 pipe bombs and a bomb assembled in a rantang (food container).
The police also confiscated other evidence including spears, homemade weapons, a badik (traditional knife), bomb-making materials and religious books.
Boy said the squad was still investigating other individuals linked with Syarifuddin.
“There are other alleged terrorists that have yet to be apprehended in South Sulawesi,” he said as quoted by kompas.com.
According to tempo.co, the squad also detained Syarifuddin's neighbor Teguh, who was allegedly aware of the suspect’s activities.
On Friday, Densus 88 apprehended Syarifuddin and two other alleged terrorists, Sukardi and Fadli at a mosque in Kalosi, Alla district, Enrekang. The three terrorists were the students of Syamsuddin (alias Asmar/Buswah), one of the two suspected terrorists who was killed in a raid on the Wahidin Sudirohusodo regional hospital in Makassar on the same day.
