Man Arrested on Rape Charges to Marry at Bogor Police Station

Bogor. A man arrested on charges raping a minor will get married at the police station in Cigombong, Bogor, on Sunday.
The suspect, 25-year old Toni, decided to proceed with his plan to marry Selly, a 25-year-old woman, because the invitations had already been sent.
“We’re processing his permit, whether allowing suspect Toni to get married outside the prison,” Bogor Police chief of detectives Adj. Comr. Subandrio said on Wednesday.
Toni was arrested by police on Monday with his two friends, Kholip and Iwan, for allegedly taking turns raping a 14-year-old girl for 10 consecutive days. Another suspect, Fatah, was arrested on Tuesday. Fatah said that Kholip was the one that asked them to rape the teenager.
Toni said that he had been planning to marry Selly long before being arrested and the invitations had been sent out last week.
“I still want to get married, shame if it’s being canceled as the invitations have been sent out. But it will depend on the discussion later with my [future] bride’s family,” Toni said.
Bogor Police chief Adj. Comr. Asep Safrudin said that he would not let Toni get married outside the prison.
“If he asked for permission to get out of the prison, it cannot be granted, but if it is conducted at the police office, I can manage it,” he said.
