Jakarta, the Search and Rescue Agency or the National SAR Agency stated "Search and Rescue" ground units are approaching the point of the suspected crash site of Trigana Air PK-YRN, in the Star Mountains district of Papua.
Information from the official site Basarnas in Jakarta, Tuesday morning, said the ground rescue team was at a distance of 1.5 kilometers away from the location, but had to postpone the search due to weather conditions and difficult terrain. They are waiting for an improvement in the weather conditions
Basarnas fielded two ground search and rescue teams with a total 50 people each. The two teams did a search and swept an area indicated by co-ordinates supplied by a previous areal search.
On Monday-morning (18-8-2015), an airborne SAR AMA Air plane reported to have found debris from an aircraft that could be the Trigana near Kampung Oskop, District Star Mountains.
Basarnas head Marshal TNI Henry Bambang Soelistyo said, according to the pilot of the AMA, Captain Erick, he believed the impact of the crash of the Trigana is as wide as 20 meters and a length of approximately 100 meters. The village is located at an altitude of 8,300 feet or 3,000 meters above sea level.
From Jakarta President Joko Widodo said because of weather constraints the search will be continued on Tuesday (18-8-2015) morning.
