An Indonesian migrant worker in Irbid, Jordan, was murdered by his employer recently, Foreign Ministry stated on Monday.
Foreign Ministry spokesperson Arrmanatha Nasir, referring to the autopsy examination result, said that the worker, S, from Grobogan, Central Java, died because of being hit on the back of her head.
"S was fighting with her employer when she was hit on the back of her head. The impact was fatal," Arrmanatha said, adding that the Indonesian government would ask the authorities to process the case in line with the Jordanian law.
"We have been informed by Jordanian authorities that the murderer was arrested and is being investigated,” he said as quoted by Antara. The murderer is the wife of the employer, who is a local police officer, he said.
The body of S, 30, will be repatriated on Monday. "We have informed he family in Central Java that the body might arrive [in Indonesia] on Tuesday," Arrmanatha added
