Floods inundate seven villages in Sampang

Sampang (ANTARA News) -

Floods in Sampang, Madura, East Java. inundated at least seven villages in the area, Sampang sub-district head Suryanto said Saturday night.

The villages were Dalpenang, Gunung Sekar, Rongtengah, Kemuning, Banyumar, Panggung and Pasean he said.

At least a thousand houses in the seven villages had been flooded.

The regency city administration has also opened public kitchens at the social service and regional development planning offices.

Some of the people whose homes had been inundated had moved to higher ground, but many also stayed put.
