The Jakarta Civil Registration Agency's Identity Card Raid (OYK) resulted in the arrest of 660 people lacking proper identification cards.
"Those caught were found with neither Jakarta ID Cards (KTP) nor any other forms of identification. Some had expired KTPs which hadn't been renewed. Of the 660 people, 77 have to be sent to the Kedoya Social Home for falling under the category of having social welfare issues (PMKS)," Jakarta Civil Registration Agency chief Purba Hutapea said on Thursday.
He added that those brought to social homes would then be returned to their places of origin. The agency also caught eight Chinese nationals whose passports had expired.
"Three Chinese foreigners were caught in Pesona Bahari Apartment and the other five were netted at the Laguna Apartments and Robinson Apartments in North Jakarta. Those five foreigners have been handed over to immigration to be processed according to immigration regulations," he said.
