Rain forecast across the nation for New Year’s Eve

The Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) is predicting wet weather for Jakarta and much of the nation on New Year’s Eve.

BMKG head Harry Tirto Djatmiko said that Jakarta and several cities outside Java would see rains of various intensities within the coming week.

“The intensities will vary from light, to medium to heavy,” Harry said on Wednesday.

Light to medium rain was predicted for Jakarta, while rain was also expected in Sumatra, Kalimantan, Sulawesi, Bali, East Nusa Tenggara, West Nusa Tenggara, the Moluccas and Papua.

“I am suggesting that people prepare themselves as the rains will likely come with thunder and strong wind,” he said as quoted by beritajakarta.com. (swd)
