Four dead as warehouse collapses in Makassar

Four construction workers are dead and three others seriously injured after an under-construction warehouse collapsed in Bulurokewng, Makassar, South Sulawesi, on Saturday.

Muis, an eyewitness, said that Iwan, Salama’, Hasbullah and Rusli, along with other 27 workers, were working on the site when a downpour and strong winds hit the area at 2 p.m. local time.

“During the heavy rain, we took cover behind walls. That's when the building suddenly collapsed,” he said.

The Search and Rescue (SAR) team, along with the police, the Indonesian Military (TNI) and the Makassar Red Cross (PMI), are still combing the area to look for any missing victims.
