Als je toevallig deze maand in Jakarta bent....Exhibition Batik Belanda, 8 March - 4 April 2013 
Batik Belanda is actually Indonesian batik, which motifs have been influenced by Dutch culture. Back in the Dutch colonial era, many Dutch citizens who stayed in Indonesia fell in love with Indonesian batik. However, they wanted colors and patterns that were more familiar to them. So, they created Dutch and European flower patterns and images of fairy tales with more cheerful color to its fabric.
In November 2012 Jakarta Fashion Week in collaboration with Erasmus Huis and Netherlands Embassy successfully presented a fashion show and an exhibition called: The Revival of Batik Belanda.
From 8 March - 4 April 2013 Erasmus Huis proudly presents the exhibition Batik Belanda from Time to Time in collaboration with Jakarta Fashion Week, Museum Tekstil Jakarta, Galeri Batik and Ms. Asmoro Damais. This exhibition Batik Belanda from Time to Time is a continuation of the collaboration with Jakarta Fashion Week in November 2012.
