A Dutch national was found dead Thursday in an irrigation canal in Tibubeneng village in North Kuta, Bali.
The body was found by areas resident Rizky Sinaga facedown, dressed in a a short-sleeved shirt and shorts.
Rizky said he reported the finding to the North Kuta Police, who identified the body as Lew Lou, a Dutch national who stayed on Jalan Jalak in North Kuta, based on an identity card found on the body.
Police also found a motorcycle 100 meters from where Lou lay, adding that it was probably his.
The cause of death, however, remains unclear.
“We are still investigating the cause. Some witnesses said they heard a motorcycle crash at the scene two days before the body was found,” North Kuta Police chief Adj. Comr. I Nyoman Sukanada was quoted as saying by news portal kompas.com.
