Representatives of the Sriwijaya Air management have reported Belitung Regional Investment Coordinating Board chief Zakaria Umar to the police for slapping flight attendant Febriani across the face, during the last flight from Jakarta to Pangkal Pinang on Wednesday night.
“Zakaria could not accept being warned by Febriani to switch off his phone for flight safety reasons, therefore he slapped her across the face with a rolled up newspaper the minute after landing,” Sriwijaya Air spokesman Aguns Soedjono said as quoted by tempo.co on Thursday.
Commenting on this, Zakaria’s lawyer Eliza said that her client had expressed deep regret over the incident and offered a truce, but Febriani insisted on bringing the case to the police.
“It’s actually a simple matter. Besides, no serious injury has been caused by this incident. But, if she insists on taking this to the court then we will be ready for it,” Eliza said.
Transportation Ministry spokesman Bambang S Ervan said the ministry would monitor closely the legal process.
“We expect that this case will be resolved by legal process,” he said
(" Zakaria’s lawyer Eliza said that her client had expressed deep regret over the incident and offered a truce," The dimwit offered a truce after hitting
the stewardess accross the face with a rolled up newspaper? Too right she is taking this drip to court, even in Indonesia this is called an unprovoked
assault, plus the stewardess was doing her duty reminding this guy to switch off his phone during the flight!) siK.
