Aceh Police have located an 11-hectare marijuana plantation on the slopes of Mount Kemukiman Lamteuba, Aceh Besar Regency.
Half of the crop was destroyed on Tuesday, while the remainder was seized for evidence. Aceh Police chief Insp. Gen. Fajar Priyantoro led the raid, which was also assisted by local residents.
“Local residents first reported the plantation to us,” said Fajar, adding that the crop was located around 10 kilometers from a residential area, as quoted by tempointeraktif.com.
Aceh Police spokesman Farida Ahmad said his team had arrested three people in connection with the plantation a week ago.
Aceh Police have reportedly destroyed a total of 95 hectares marijuana plantations in the first half of this year.
